Natalya Chekmareva

Dickony Foundation Tutor

It happened five years ago. I had five underage children and the family was in an extremely difficult financial situation. I was very worried that children could be taken away from me. I was asking for help from dozens of places! I turned to many organizations in the hope that they would tell me the way out. I needed not only money, but also support and advice on how to get out of this "financial hole." But wherever I was, I got the same answer: “It was me who gave birth to children” or even: “ You have received full support and it is not clear for us whatever you are still waiting for.” I literally begged on my knees to help me cause I had neither inner strength nor support from outside to get back on track! It was especially hard because my children were behind me.
At some point, I was told to contact the fund "Dickony”. I remember how I was walking there without any hope in my heart. But to my astonishment, they welcomed me there, talked to me, supported morally and physically. The next day, just before the New Year, the director of “Dickony” came to my house with huge bags full of products and said “children should have a holiday, happy New Year”.

Some time later I was invited to work as a tutor. I am a very creative person and now I have an opportunity to pass on all my knowledge to children.

Alexandra Chekmareva

Dickony Foundation Tutor

My mother works as a tutor at Dickony, so I have got to know about the foundation firsthand. Mom talked about Dickony a lot: about how and what kind of children live there. The guys live as one big and friendly family, they are always ready to help each other and support.

Once I went to the camp "Dickony" as a counselor. It was my first time. It was really special time. I received a huge amount of positive emotions. And I really enjoyed working with children.

The director of "Dickony" invited me to work there. I was absolutely delighted, but at the same time it was a little scary, I was worried that I could not manage it or I could not cope with children, because these guys are from the families who have gone through so much, it is hard to imagine. But I decided to try it no matter what, and it turned out, the children accepted and loved me.

Now I can not imagine how I used to live without "Dickony".

Snezhana Valyaeva

Dickony Foundation Tutor

Three years ago I learned about "Dickony" from my son Christian, who was familiar with the guys from "Dickony". Every time, with delight, he told me what kind of friendly, kind, talented and wonderful children there were, what a friendly and responsive team it was.

Then some hard times came to my life, and the staff of Dickony helped me a lot. I was attracted by their kindness and sincerity of children’s hearts.I was eager to work and communicate with these children. These days I am really happy with my job, because we are all like one big happy family.

There’re no children who are orphans

Cause all the world is then in charge.

And children weren’t born to lack this:

Affection, kindness, care, love.

If they desire children grow,

They’re supposed to give it all.

Elena Melnova

Dickony Foundation Tutor

Six years ago I was in a difficult situation. To solve some of my problems, I needed to have extra income so I needed to find a part-time job, preferably in the evening after 6 pm.

It happened so, that at the very time my friend, working in a non-profit making organization, was also looking for work. Director of the Vyborg Charitable Foundation "Dickony" Victoria Andreyevna Shutova offered her to work in the fund. By chance, my friend found a better-paid job and you can say, as “an inheritance”, I got this job position at Dickony.

At the beginning of my work, I had no idea what is ahead of me, what to expect. There wouldn’t be enough time and writing space to describe all the troubles and difficulties of my adaptation to children and children to me. It was a very long procedure. But a miracle happened. I do not know how much I have helped the Foundation. However strange it may sound, but it was the children of the Foundation who have really helped.

The difficulties have passed, and with them the need for additional income. But I continue to work in the Fund and I am not going to leave it.

Tatyana Dovgyy

Dickony Foundation Tutor

I was looking for a job, preferably at night, because I have a grandson and I needed to sit with him during the day.

I still have plenty of vitality and additional work did not frighten me.

Through my acquaintance, Melnova Elena, I learned that the Dickony Foundation was in need of tutors. But they didn’t have vacancies for employees during the night shift anymore, so I decided to work on a day shift. Of course, I did not expect that I would be so "inveigled."

I've been working for five years since then, and these days flew like one day. Every day here is unpredictable and it makes the time here even more interesting!

Lyudmila Polyakova

Dickony Foundation Tutor

My husband, children and me lived in the Ukraine. Five years ago the war began there and we moved to Russia. It was hard to find a job and find places for kids at school. Friends suggested going to a fund "Dickony", where, as they said, I could get help. As soon as I explained my situation to the director of Dickony, she, immediately took my children to "Dickony".

My husband and I became victims of the appartment’s fraud so we had no place to live. Then the director offered us to live in "Dickony" for some time. We were extremely grateful, because at that point we had no strength to fight anymore. While I was living in "Dickony," I did homework with children, cleaned, washed clothes, and helped with whatever I could. At the beginning of the summer, our children gathered to go to the camp and the director suggested that I go to work in the camp as a cook. I agreed and I really enjoyed working with children with so many different backgrounds.

And then I dawned on me that my old dream - to work with children, came true! And now I am a tutor of the fund "Dickony".
